Dr. Abbat Kebdi graduated in 1981 from Istanbul University Chelapasa Medical Faculty. In 1988, he graduated from Istanbul University Medical School General Surgery and became a general surgeon specialist. After that, he worked as a general surgery specialist at Sisli He Etfal Training and Research Hospital. From 1990 to 1992, he completed his military service as a medical ensign at Corlu Army Hospital. In 1992, he was engaged in laparoscopic surgery and tumor surgery (particularly breast cancer) at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA. He worked in Laparoscopic Surgery and Breast Surgery at the Department of General Surgery, Istanbul Medical University. He also attended a Gastroenterological Surgical Endoscopy training course and obtained a certificate on this subject.
