Dr. (Prof.) Raju Vaishya is a well-known super specialist in the fields of arthroscopic joint surgery and total joint replacement. He received both his undergraduate and graduate medical degrees at the GR Medical College in Gwalior before completing his super specialty training there. Treatment of different types of arthritis, osteoporosis, sports injuries, and difficult fractures and dislocations are among his particular interests in orthopaedics. He is a pioneer in India when it comes to using Patient Specific Instrumentation (PSI) for knee replacements. His additional areas of research include Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation and various approaches for cartilage regeneration and restoration.
His scholarly work in the area of orthopaedics, as well as his numerous papers and lectures, have earned him recognition on a global scale. At Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals in New Delhi, he has been managing a highly effective fellowship training programme for orthopaedic surgeons for the past 15 years. He has so far taught more than 200 orthopaedic surgeons from Iraq, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Africa, and India.
He has received numerous accolades and trophies for his academic success. Additionally, he leads the Arthritis Care Foundation.
Dr. Raju Vaishya is an Indian researcher with contributions in the field of orthopedics. He is former President and founder member of Indian Cartilage Society (2018–19) and Founder President of Arthritis Care Foundation. Dr. Vaishya is the Chairman of IT, e-library and Web resource Committee of Indian Orthopedic Association. He performed the first pre plan PSI total knee arthroplasty, in Northern India in May 2013.
He was the only person from the Indian subcontinent to be invited as a faculty member for the UK Cartilage club meeting in London (November 2012). He has more than 300 research-based publications and several chapters in the textbooks to his credit, in peer-reviewed and indexed medical journals. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the
