Professor Dr. Sundaram Natarajan, CMD of Mumbai's leading Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, was conferred the Padma Shri for his medical achievements. A third-generation eye specialist, he completed his ophthalmology graduation from Chennai. He worked there as a Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon under Dr. S. S. Badrinath, at the Sankara Nethralaya, and joined the Taparia Institute of Ophthalmology, Bombay Hospital, till 1990. That year, he laid the foundation stone of Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital Pvt. Ltd. and has been the hospital's Director, Surgeon, and guide to Vitreo Retinal Specialists.
