Mr. Asif Chaudry is a British Surgical Oncologist renowned for his expertise in Oesophageal and Gastric Cancer. He collaborates closely with a team of medical and clinical oncologists, as well as a multi-professional cancer team, to deliver high quality care at an international standard. Mr. Chaudry is committed to innovation in his field and leads the pioneering team in the UK for Robotic Oesophageal Cancer Surgery utilising the latest Da Vinci Xi Robot system. Additionally, he has extensive experience in conventional laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.
Currently affiliated with the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, Mr. Chaudry operates within a world-renowned centre of excellence for cancer care and treatment. This hospital, together with the Institute of Cancer Research, forms the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe. He also consults with patients at the Princess Grace Hospital and Harley St Clinic.
Mr. Chaudry pursued his education at Wadham College, Oxford, where he earned a scholarship and graduated with Distinction from Oxford University. His training spans Oxford, London, and Seoul, where he developed his skills at a centre performing the highest volume of gastric cancer operations worldwide. Proficient in Robotic Oesophageal Cancer Surgery, Mr. Chaudry received training under Prof Richard Van Hillegersberg in Utrecht, Netherlands.
With a focus on advancing cancer treatment, Mr. Chaudry serves as the Surgical Oncology lead or co-investigator for various research trials. He is also an editor of esteemed publications in the field, including the Surgical Oncology (Oxford University Press) EpCAM in the Encyclopedia of Cancer (Springer), and Gastric and Oesophageal Surgery (Oxford University Press). Moreover, he chaired cancer drug development sessions at notable conferences, including the International Drug Discovery Science and Technology Conference in Xian, China, and the World Cancer Congress in Singapore.
