Mr James Bellringer is a Consultant Urologist specialising in gender reassignment surgery in trans women. He is based in Wimbledon, London and currently sees private patients at Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital.
Mr Bellringer obtained his medical degree from the University of Cambridge and Wimbledon University in 1982 and completed his training at St Thomas' Hospital. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1987 and was awarded his Fellowship in Urology by the Intercollegiate Board in 1995. He became a Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine (part of the Multidisciplinary Committee of Sexual Medicine, MJCSM) in 2012.
He was first appointed as a General Urologist in 1996, later moving on to lead the Gender Surgery service at Charing Cross Hospital in London. He left Charing Cross Hospital in 2014 and now exclusively sees trans patients at Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital. He is also an Honorary Consultant at St George's NHS Trust where he supports their Gender Surgery service. Mr Bellringer follows the World Professional Association for Transgender Health standards of care.
