Mr Ian Currie is a Consultant Gynaecologist with over two decades of experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of gynaecological disorders.
Mr Currie centres his practice around holistic care and explaining medical terminology to his patients in simple terms, in order for them to make informed decisions about their own healthcare. He sees private patients at the Princess Grace Hospital and The Portland Hospital for Women and Children.
Mr Currie gained his Bachelor's degree in medicine at the University of Leeds in 1987, after which he completed his basic and specialist gynaecology training, where he gained expertise in post obstetric birth trauma, reconstructive surgery, menstrual disorders and general gynaecology. Upon completion, he was appointed Consultant in 1997. Since his appointment, he has become nationally renowned for his treatment of pelvic floor disorders and menstrual disorders.
Mr Currie is also an active member of the scientific research community, authoring several peer reviewed publications in gynecological journals and has also presented his research at international and national conferences and in media. Mr Currie has received the maximum amount of Clinical Excellence awards points from his Trust, showing his dedication to outstanding clinical practice. He was also acting Vice President for the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists between 2012-2017.
