Mr Simon Atkinson is a Consultant Pancreaticobiliary and General Surgeon, working at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals and King's College Hospitals for 20 years. He sees patients in a private capacity at the Cleveland Clinic London. He specialises in pancreaticobiliary, gastrointestinal surgery, gallbladder surgery, hernia surgery and general surgery. He sees and treats patients with gallstones and pancreatic disease, including pancreatic cancer and pancreatitis. He is also highly competent in general surgery and related issues including abdominal pain, appendicitis, groin and other abdominal hernias and removal of skin and subcutaneous lumps.
Mr Atkinson qualified from The Royal London Hospital and then undertook speciality surgical training in the South East Thames region and in gastrointestinal surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital. He also had pancreaticobiliary training abroad at the Royal Perth Hospital, Australia.
Mr Atkinson is highly skilled in all types of abdominal surgery including laparoscopic and open. Outside of work he has a personal life filled with family time, squash, and evolutionary biology.
