Mr. Guy Barham is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in spinal surgery. He treats spinal trauma, emergencies and degenerative conditions of the lumbar and cervical sections of the spine.
Mr. Barham qualified in Medicine from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1998. He subsequently completed his basic surgical training at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Southampton University, where he began to develop an interest in orthopaedic surgery. Following this, he undertook a Spinal Fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia. He covered a broad range of spinal pathologies including spinal cord injury, fractures and spinal cord decompression caused by infections or cancer. He also deepened his understanding of degenerative and arthritic conditions.
Upon completion of his fellowship, he worked with the Pan-Dorset Spinal Service, before moving to work as Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Salisbury District Hospital, Odstock. Mr. Barham liaises with Rheumatologists, radiologists, and other physicians to determine the best surgical or non-surgical treatments for patients.
