Mr Basim Matti is a Senior Consultant Plastic Surgeon based in London seeing private patients at Cromwell Hospital and in his clinic on Harley Street. Qualifications Mr Matti qualified in medicine in 1985 at the University of Mosul, Iraq. He completed both his junior and senior specialist training in plastic surgery at many centres across the UK, including the Plastic Surgery Centre in Sheffield, West Middlesex Hospital in London and St Andrew's Hospital in Billericay. He also completed cosmetic plastic surgery training alongside renowned plastic surgeon Mr F V Nicole subsequently undertaking a Fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery with him. Professional Experience He was first appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in 1998 at Charing Cross Hospital and practised there until 2002. Mr Matti in past has held the United Kingdom Secretary for the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and holds memberships with other professional organisations, including the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and the British Association of Plastic Surgeons. Specialisms His current clinical practice focuses on cosmetic plastic surgery, including procedures such as facelift, rhinoplasty, liposuction and breast augmentation. Mr Matti has performed over 1000 facelift procedures as well as over 750 primary and secondary rhinoplasties. He has expertise in managing cases of difficult noses and faces and is well skilled in breast augmentation and abdominoplasty. Mr Matti is also a well known aesthetic doctor in the field of botox and dermal fillers. Teaching In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Matti is a well-known teacher for aesthetic and cosmetic plastic surgery in the UK and overseas. He frequently contributes in both association meetings and international meetings. He is involved in a number of international teaching courses in Miami, New York and Dallas. He is a keen researcher and has published widely on topics in aesthetic plastic surgery.
