Dr Bav Shergill is a consultant dermatologist, working in Sussex. He sees NHS patients at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead and within both the Surrey and the Sussex Community Dermatology Service. He consults privately at Hove Skin Clinic, McIndoe Surgical Centre, East Grinstead and Worthing Laser and Skin Clinic.
Dr Shergill's specialist area of interest is the treatment of skin cancer and he was the lead clinician for the Sussex Specialist Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (2008-2014). He introduced Mohs surgery for Basal Cell Carcinomas to Sussex and is the regional lead for the service. He is skilled in complex surgical techniques and a range of laser treatments. He also treats general dermatology skin problems such as eczema, acne and rashes. His private practice covers all areas of Dermatology including cosmetic treatments, such as Botox, Fillers and Laser resurfacing. He has a particular interest in the management of acne and acne scarring. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer and member of Faculty for the MSc in Skin Ageing and Rejuvenation, University of Manchester.
He graduated from Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital in London in 1996. His specialist dermatology training took place across London, including The Royal Free Hospital and The Royal London Hospital. He also undertook a training fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Dermatological Surgery and lasers at the world-renowned St John's Institute of Dermatology in London.
He has recently presented scientific papers at National and European meetings. He is a media spokesperson for the British Association of Dermatologists and is often asked to provide expert comment on new developments in dermatology by the BBC, The Daily Mail and other news outlets.
