Mr Arun Kumar is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hip & Knee Surgery based in Manchester. He currently sees private patients at Spire Manchester Hospital and Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle. He graduated with a medical degree in India in 1992 and subsequently completed a Master's degree in Orthopaedics in 1995. He then moved to the UK and completed a Master's degree in Trauma at the University of Birmingham in 2000. He then went on to complete his specialist orthopaedic training in the North West of England. Mr Kumar also completed a Diploma in Sports & Exercise Medicine in 2002. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow in Trauma & Orthopaedics in 2005. Mr Kumar offers an excellent standard of care for treatments focusing on the knee and hip. He also regularly reviews academic journals to learn about new treatments for his patients. Mr Kumar also teaches, overseeing the education of both medical students and surgical trainees. Mr Kumar has completed two prestigious orthopaedic fellowships. This includes 6 months in Toronto working primarily on uncemented hip replacements and revision surgery, as well as gaining further experience in lower limb replacements with the University Hospitals of Leicester. Mr Kumar currently holds the post of Clinical Director for Trauma & Orthopaedics at the Manchester University, NHS foundation Trust.
