Mr. Thomas Hunter is a highly skilled consultant specialising in trauma and orthopaedic surgery. His expertise particularly centres around hip and knee joint replacement surgery. He also serves as a clinical supervisor for surgical trainees and an honorary clinical lecturer affiliated with Cardiff and Bangor University.
Mr Hunter obtained his primary medical degree at the University of Manchester, and subsequently completed specialised training in surgery. His initial foundation training took place in the Oxford deanery, laying the foundation for a comprehensive career in surgery. His core surgical training involved both plastic surgery and trauma and orthopaedic surgery. He later joined the prestigious Stoke/Oswestry orthopaedic higher surgical training programme, a significant milestone in his journey. Throughout this period, he actively contributed to national conferences, published papers in respected peer-reviewed journals, and developed a passion for teaching. His dedication to education led him to obtain a Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma in medical education, alongside a Master’s degree in Evidence-Based Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.
Mr. Hunter's commitment to excellence continued as he devoted an extra year to the renowned Wrightington Hospital, internationally known as a specialised centre for hip and knee surgery. It was from this foundation that he transitioned into his role as a consultant.
At the core of Mr. Hunter's philosophy is patient-centred care, he focuses on enhanced recovery post-surgery and exceptional patient communication. His dedication to his field is evident through his memberships in prestigious organisations such as the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Hip Society.
