Dr Naila Arebi is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and the Director of the IBD Clinical Service at St Mark's National Bowel Hospital. At this service she specialises in IBD surveillance, diagnostic colonoscopy, endoscopy, rectal bleeding, weight loss, Chrons disease and ulcerative colitis.
Dr Arebi gained her initial medical qualifications at the University of Malta, and continued her journey by undertaking her training in Oxford and Northwest Thames London training, which allowed her to gain accreditation in Gastroenterology and General Medicine. She followed this with advanced endoscopy training at St Mark's Hospital, after which she was awarded her PhD from Imperial College London. Due to her outstanding achievement, she was granted various travel scholarships and visited the Medical University of South Carolina Endoscopy Unit and Kishiwada Tokusyukai Hospital and Osaka University Hospital, Japan. After completing her training and becoming consultant, she has made significant impact in the field of Gastroenterology, including being awarded the NIHR which she used to strategically improve and expand IBD services, to better assist patients. She also founded the Bravo Catheterless pH monitoring service to support the oesophageal diagnostic service, and chairs the British Society of Gastroenterology adolescents.
