Dr Wajid Hussain is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust hospitals. He also sees private patients at the following private hospitals and clinics:
Dr Hussain graduated from the University of Birmingham in both medicine and physiology. He completed his specialist training in general cardiology in London and later completed research surrounding heart rhythm disorders at Imperial College London and Columbia University in New York. He was awarded a Young Investigator Prize by the European Society of Cardiology for this work.
He was first appointed as Consultant Cardiac Electrophysiologist in 2006 at the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust where he facilitated the expansion of ablation services, particularly improving the treatment of atrial fibrillation.

He has expertise in several techniques, including: pacemaker insertion (single and dual chamber), cardiac ablation and echocardiography (transthoracic and transoesophageal).
Dr Hussain has interests in the application of digital tools to improve healthcare delivery. He is also the Clinical Director for Digital Health at the Royal College of Physicians of London and the Chief Clinical Information Officer for his NHS trust.
