Dr. Seamus Murphy is a highly accomplished and experienced Gastroenterologist. From 2016 to 2017, he served as the Associate Professor of Gastroenterology and Director of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR, USA.
Dr. Murphy received his training in Northern Ireland and the United States. In 2007, he completed an Advanced Fellowship in IBD at Mount Sinai in New York. Additionally, he obtained a PhD in Barrett's oesophagus and oesophageal cancer from Queen's University Belfast in 2005.
In recognition of his clinical and research contributions in Northern Ireland, Dr. Murphy was awarded fellowship of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGAF) in 2017. He worked as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in the Southern Trust at Daisy Hill Hospital in Newry from 2007-2023.
Dr. Murphy's clinical practice covers all general gastroenterology including the management of inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. He also specialises in endoscopy procedures (gastroscopy and colonoscopy). With his expertise and dedication, he provides high-quality care to patients in the field of gastroenterology.
