Dr Sarah Elkin is an experienced Consultant in General and Respiratory Medicine at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. She sees private patients at Onewellbeck, the Physicians' Clinic and The Lindo Wing of St Marys. Dr Elkin is an integrated clinician working in the acute trust on call, in clinics and in the community with GPs.
Dr Elkin has clinical interests in a broad range of respiratory conditions, including the following:
She completed her medical degree at UCLH and the Middlesex hospital, subsequently completing her specialist training in Respiratory Medicine within North West London. Dr Elkin later was awarded a doctorate degree for her research work , completed at the Royal Brompton Hospital and Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London as well as a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
In her NHS Trust, she is the COPD Lead and Clinical Director of Integrated Care .She has more lately set up the Long COVID clinic within Imperial and was a founder clinican of the successful ENO-Breathe program which runs across the UK. She holds the position of CRO-Respiratory for the North West London Integrated care system and In her position at Clinical Director, she works closely with GPs and patient groups to improve healthcare for those with respiratory conditions. She works to improve the respiratory health of all londoners in her positon of Co-CD for the London Respiratory network.
Dr Elkin holds professional memberships with the British Thoracic Society, the Primary Care Respiratory Society and the European Respiratory Society.
