He was born in Izmir. 1981 Graduated from Aegean University School of Medicine. That same year, he spent 18 months at the Center for Experimental Surgery at Yale University's Center for Cardiovascular Surgery. Upon his return, he began working as a resident in General Surgery at the Aegean University School of Medicine. He completed his training as a General Surgeon in 1989. Due to his military service, he worked at the Amasya Military Hospital. From 1991 to 1992, he provided obligatory services at Manisa SSK Hospital.
