Minimally invasive surgery (surgery through small incisions) is also being used more and more frequently in cardiovascular surgery. I have been performing minimally invasive coronary artery bypass surgery and heart valve surgery for many years. In this method, a small incision is not made through the sternum, but a small window is made between the ribs and all operations are performed through this small window. Patients recover much faster and return to normal life. Eliminates problems that can arise from amputation of the sternum. Vascular surgery usually opens blocked blood vessels without surgery. On the other hand, some "difficult" cases are solved as a hybrid of interventional methods in addition to surgery in the angiography laboratory.
