Dr Piers Clifford is a consultant general and interventional cardiologist at the Imperial Hospitals NHS Trust and the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. He is also the Clinical Lead for Cardiology at Wycombe, and each year he performs over 350 coronary angioplasty procedures. His areas of interest are as follows:
Dr Clifford received his medical degree in 1987 before training at the prestigious St Mary's Medical School in London. He holds a Doctor of Medicine degree in ventricular hypertrophy genetics. He is also a member of a number of professional organisations, including the British Cardiac Society and the British Cardiac Intervention Society.
He is also actively engaged in research, with an emphasis on molecular cardiology and coronary intervention. He has gained numerous awards for his work, including the National Bronze Merit Award and the Council of British Cardiovascular Society, and was a finalist for the HSJ Value in Healthcare Award.
