He was born in Sargur, Manisa in 1965. He completed his primary, middle and high school education in Izmir. He graduated from Gulhane Military Medical College in 1990. In 1996 he completed his residency and became an otorhinolaryngologist. He worked as an otorhinolaryngologist at a military hospital until 2000.
