• Dr. Vinod Vij is the first plastic surgeon to establish the specialty in Navi Mumbai .
• To begin with, he organized many free camps in different parts of city for reconstruction of cleft lip and cleft palate and many other congenital deformities with different NGOs.
• He is credited with establishment of Plastic Surgery Department in MGM Hospital, where he worked for 10 years and then left to start the state- of -the- art Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Unit in Fortis Hospital ,Mulund and Vashi .
• He has done his high definition lipo-sculpturing training under Dr. Constantino Mendieta, Miami, USA.
• He has been trained in Rhinoplasty by eminent plastic surgeon of Turkey Dr. Nazim Cerkis.
• He has taken advanced training in Hair transplant from France, Ultrasonic Liposuction from Seoul( South Korea) and for Botox and Fillers from Singapore.
• He has made available all cutting edge technologies like VASER (ultrasonic assisted liposuction) and Microair (power assisted liposuction), world class Lasers to do all noninvasive cosmetic surgeries like photo rejuvenation ,removal of pigmented lesion , scars and hair removal, in the Department.
• Latest addition in his armamentarium is RECOSMA Laser for wound healing eg. Diabetic ulcers, Venous ulcers , pressure sores and chronic non healing ulcers.
