Mr Nicholas Davies is an upper GI surgeon practising privately at Bournemouth Nuffield, Bournemouth Private Clinic. He is a senior surgeon at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Part of University Hospital Dorset. He has a special interest in gall stones and laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gall bladder surgery), as well as open and laparoscopic (keyhole) hernia surgery. He is also skilled in laparoscopic hiatus hernia surgery, gastroscopy, and stomach and oesophageal cancer surgery. In addition to his private practice, Mr Davies is also the lead surgeon for upper GI and bariatric surgery at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Mr Davies gained his medical qualification in 1985 from the University of Birmingham before going on to complete a Doctor of Medicine. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1989. He trained in a number of different areas including the West Midlands, Merseyside, Bristol and South Australia, gaining extensive experience in laparoscopic surgery for hernia, gallstone, and hiatus hernia treatment. Mr Davies is a member of many professional organisations including the Association of Upper GI Surgeons (AUGIS), Asocaition of Laparoscopic Sureons, (ALS), Bariatric and Metabolic Sugical Society (BOMMS) and the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES))
