Mr. Simon Moyes is a senior and highly experienced sports medicine and orthopaedic surgeon specialising in disorders of the knee, shoulder, foot and ankle.
Mr. Moyes' general medical training was at The Middlesex Hospital. His specialist trauma and orthopaedic training was at the prestigious Westminster Hospital Registrar Programme and the Royal National Orthopaedic Senior Registrar Programme. Furthering his training, he undertook fellowships at the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre and the famous Southern California Orthopaedic Institute in Los Angeles.
Mr. Moyes is a keen educator and was a lecturer at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London in the 1990s. He was also appointed as a Consultant at UCL in 1994 to develop their sports medicine service. He went into full time private practice in 1998 and has had a busy Central London private practice since then carrying out some 10,000 operative procedures.
Mr. Moyes has recently moved his practice to Cromwell Hospital and its Basinghall Clinic for his City clients. His surgical special interests are in the development of new arthroscopic/minimally invasive surgery for the knee, shoulder, foot and ankle. He continues his training and research all the time, working to develop new and better techniques for reconstruction of these joints to help treat his patients better.
In addition to his busy practice, he is closely involved with the Arthroscopy Association of North America in Chicago. He regularly attends meetings there and is in close liaison with colleagues from that association. He also has a close working relationship with Arthrex who are a large international sports medicine and orthopaedic products company who currently fund a research fellow for him.
Outside of work, Simon enjoys general fitness training, cycling, yoga and skiing. He is also a keen conservationist raising money annually for the European Nature Trust by supporting the production of their wildlife films and doing charity bike rides to raise funds for TENT.
